Starburst

Starburst is a new student residence on Rua Bernardo Marques, in Costa da Caparica, Almada. The building combines student rooms with shared common spaces, in a new reinforced concrete structure.

The scheme develops over two semi-basement levels and several upper floors. Above the first floor the building splits into two volumes: Block A rises to the fourth floor and Block B to the third, both finished with a roof.

MOQ Engineering designed the structure and foundations, coordinated in BIM with the hydraulic and mechanical models so that every service runs through the structure without clashes before reaching site.
